Online-Networking for Mothers in Science – How Do You Do It?
28.05.2025 -
28 May 2025 | 2-3 PM | online
What do you think when you hear the words "compatibility"or “work-life-balance”? How are you doing as a mother in science? What hurdles do you face, what successes have you already celebrated? And how do you manage the daily balancing act between the different roles? In this meeting, we would like to discuss these and other questions, network, and strengthen each other. Because none of us has to go through this alone!

1The terms "motherhood" and "mother" can run the risk of reproducing social attributions and stereotypes. We explicitly advocate for a use of these terms that reflects these attributions and is open to the diversity of mothers and motherhood. Not only cisgender women are mothers, not all mothers have given birth, and not all who have given birth are mothers.
Furthermore, motherhood does not only concern mothers – all people perceived as female will be confronted with the topic in different ways at some point in their lives – regardless of whether they actually have children, want to or can have children. By "mother"/"mothers," we mean, on the one hand, people who identify as mothers, regardless of their gender, and, on the other hand, people who experience or are confronted with motherhood, even if they do not identify as mothers.
